The logs are going up!
We are putting white cedar log siding on our home. Our parents are working on our home like it was their own, and we are so grateful!
We've got about 50% of the siding done, after that we have to finish the inside and we are looking at around Christmastime before we will get to move in. We are getting excited....

Addie and her Cousins go to the Zoo!
The Fort Wayne Children's Zoo is so much fun. Aunt April and Aunt Alexis took my girls to the zoo while Kevin and I stayed home to work on our new home.

Rex and Deb's Alaska Adventure
Okay, my mom and dad are outside of King Salmon, Alaska. They had to fly in to the fishing lodge, so they do not have their car! I am pretty sure it is parked in Anchorage. Their fishing lodge sets on the beautiful Alagnak River. They are working really hard, this is not a vacation for them! My dad is heading up several construction projects and my mom is cooking and helping where she can! I really don't know what their everyday looks like, it is a mystery to us all!
The 12X12 "hut" my parents are living in, only they could do this!! What pioneers!
All the builing materials have to be brought in by helicopters, that is my dad telling the helicopter dude how to do his job!
More materials being lowered.
Mom's Kitchen and helpers. Breakfast is at 8, Lunch at 1:30 and Dinner at 7:30. Do you see the jar on the counter, it has some cream colored stuff in the bottom? That is her bread starter. She is making homeade bread out there!
Our New Home Update
We are making progress on our new home. We are now at the point of roughing in all the plumbing, heating and electrical. My hubbby and brother in law are takling this big project!
The Amish are just getting started on the first floor framing.
Day 1: the framing is complete in 7 hours.
Day 2: The attic trusses were put up and the roof was completed (pic doesn't show this) It is amazing to see the Amish work. They work like hogs and use alot of workers so that they can get the job done in one day. They all have Mexican "drivers" because they don't drive. That is their driver in the bottom left hand corner. I will pay them 25$/hr each. So for 8 men times 8 hours that will equal $1600 for one day! Man they make good money!
